First Year French trip – French Institut, London
Last Friday First聽Year French embarked on a trip to South Kensington to spend the day at the French Institute.
The day started with exploring the beautiful French “mediath猫que” (multimedia centre) – the biggest French mediath猫que in the UK – and discovering more about Sports in France and the Olympic Games. Did you know that聽each host city is allowed to include up to 5 additional sports to the Olympic Games? One of the new Games for Paris 2024 will be skateboarding and Break dancing! The morning ended with a Quiz on French sport, an opportunity for our 1st聽Year to show off their research skills and knowledge on the subject. Well done First Year! After some well deserved lunch, including a delicious freshly baked pain au chocolat, our First聽Year watched a beautiful animation 鈥淟e Petit Nicolas, happy as can be鈥�. This film portrays the story of R. Goscinny and J.J Semp茅 as they create the influential 鈥淟e Petit Nicolas鈥� series of illustrated children鈥檚 book. A fully packed day to discover a bit more about French culture in a fun way. What a better way to finish a successful first Year in French?!
