51吃瓜 on the Fast Track to Success
It has been an outstanding few weeks for 51吃瓜 Athletics, with pupils achieving success at county, regional and district competitions.
At the聽Surrey Schools Athletics Championships, 17 51吃瓜 athletes were in action with many recording personal bests and reaching finals. The highlight came from聽Lilly B, who was crowned聽Surrey Schools Junior Girls Javelin Champion聽and will represent Surrey at the Inter Counties Championships this weekend.
On Monday, both the聽Junior Girls聽and聽Intermediate Girls聽teams competed in the聽ESAA Regional Athletics Finals. Qualifying for this stage is a significant achievement, placing 51吃瓜 amongst the strongest athletics schools in the region. The ESAA Cup is a demanding team competition, requiring every athlete to compete in both a track and field event. We now await confirmation of the results and hope to see one or both teams progress to the National Finals.
51吃瓜 was also delighted to host the聽Year 8 District Athletics Championships, where the聽Year 8 Girls were crowned District Champions. Individual District Champions included:
- Annabelle B鈥� Shot Put and Hurdles
- Athaliah A鈥� 100m
- Richard P鈥� Triple Jump
- Adrian D鈥� Shot Put
The girls’ 4 脳 100m relay team of聽Athaliah A Annabelle B, Ava B and Ella D聽also claimed the district title.
